gas mass flow meter types
Gas mass flow meters are widely used in various scientific research experiments, industrial equipment, and high-precision instruments due to their ability to be equipped with various communication modes
(analog, Modbus, DevicNet, EtherCAT and other industrial bus protocols), comparable standard data, high accuracy, precision, and repeatability, simple installation method, and good controllability.
At present, there are three main principles applied by mainstream mass flow meters in the field of gas measurement and control in China: 1. Thermal principle, 2. Differential pressure principle, and 3.
Coriolis principle;
1. The thermal principle is mainly divided into three types: capillary heating, insertion heating, and microelectronics (MEMS flow chip) heating. Although these three types of heating have different structures,
the principle is to use sensors to perceive the amount of heat carried away by the gas and convert it into the mass flow rate of the gas.
Among these three types of thermal mass flow meters, capillary thermal technology is the most mature and widely applicable
2. The principle of differential pressure is to use Poisson's law for compensation calculation. By measuring the pressure difference before and after the gas passes through a certain section of the pipeline,
the volumetric flow rate of the gas is calculated, and then converted to the flow rate under standard operating conditions.
3. The
Coriolis principle mass flowmeter is based on the principle that when a fluid flows through a sensor circuit, the Coriolis force causes a variable phase shift, which is proportional to the mass of the fluid;
In fact, the flow data provided by the Coriolis mass flowmeter is pure mass flow with high accuracy. In practical applications, it is more commonly used for measuring and controlling various
liquid flow rates,
mixed gases with unknown specific components, ultra-high pressure and high viscosity gases, or gas-liquid mixed fluids.
