displacer type level transmitter working principle
The working principle of float type liquid level transmitter is mainly based on Archimedes buoyancy principle and displacement measurement principle. The following is a detailed explanation of its working principle:
Basic composition
Float type liquid level transmitter is usually composed of basic parts such as float, spring, magnetic steel chamber and indicator (or electronic conversion part). The float is the core measuring element, and its immersion
depth in the measured liquid changes with the change of liquid level.
Working principle
Buoyancy effect:
The float is suspended on the measuring spring and immersed in the measured liquid. According to Archimedes principle, the buoyancy of the float is proportional to the mass of liquid it displaces.
When the liquid level changes, the depth of the float immersed in the liquid also changes, causing the buoyancy it receives to change.
Displacement measurement:
The change in buoyancy causes the position of the float on the measuring spring to change, that is, the float is displaced. This displacement is proportional to the change in liquid level.
The measuring spring expands and contracts under the action of the displacement of the float, thereby converting the change in liquid level into a change in spring length.
Magnetic coupling and signal conversion:
The float is usually connected to a magnetic steel chamber or a magnetic sensing element, and the displacement is converted into an electrical signal by magnetic coupling.
When the float is displaced, the magnetic field of the magnetic steel chamber or the magnetic sensing element changes, which in turn causes a change in the output voltage of the sensor.
This voltage change is amplified and converted into a standard current signal (such as 4-20mA) so that it can be transmitted to the operation control room for display, alarm or automatic control.
Signal processing and display:
In the electronic conversion part, the received electrical signal is processed, amplified and converted, and then converted into a readable liquid level value.
These values can be displayed on an LCD display or transmitted to a secondary instrument or computer through other interfaces for further processing.
Precautions
The normal operation of the float-type liquid level transmitter requires that the float is installed intact and can move freely to respond to changes in the liquid level.
The stiffness and measurement accuracy of the spring have an important influence on the accuracy of the measurement results, so regular inspection and calibration are required.
The magnetic coupling part and the signal processing circuit need to be kept clean and dry to avoid measurement errors or failures caused by environmental factors.
