Working principle of
magnetic pump
Magnetic pump is a leakage-free pump that transmits torque through magnetic coupling. It uses magnetic drive to achieve power transmission, completely avoiding the leakage problem that may occur in traditional mechanical seals. It is particularly suitable for conveying toxic, flammable, explosive, corrosive or precious liquids.
1. Core structure of magnetic pump
Drive end (external magnetic rotor)
Installed on the motor shaft and driven to rotate by the motor.
The external magnetic rotor is usually composed of permanent magnets (such as neodymium iron boron) or electromagnets to generate a magnetic field.
Isolation sleeve (static seal)
Located between the external magnetic rotor and the internal magnetic rotor, it is made of non-magnetic, corrosion-resistant materials (such as stainless steel, titanium alloy).
The isolation sleeve completely isolates the medium from the external environment to prevent leakage.
Driven end (internal magnetic rotor)
Installed on the pump shaft and directly connected to the impeller.
The internal magnetic rotor is made of permanent magnets or soft magnetic materials and is coupled with the external magnetic rotor through a magnetic field.
Impeller
Installed at the end of the pump shaft and driven to rotate by the internal magnetic rotor to achieve liquid delivery.

2. Working principle
Magnetic field coupling
When the motor drives the outer magnetic rotor to rotate, the magnetic field of the outer magnetic rotor passes through the isolation sleeve and acts on the inner magnetic rotor.
The inner magnetic rotor rotates synchronously under the action of the magnetic field, driving the impeller to rotate.
Contactless transmission
There is no mechanical contact between the outer magnetic rotor and the inner magnetic rotor. The torque is transmitted through the magnetic field, avoiding the shaft seal wear and leakage problems of traditional pumps.
Fluid transportation
When the impeller rotates, the liquid is sucked from the inlet of the pump under the action of centrifugal force and discharged from the outlet after being accelerated by the impeller.
3. Characteristics of magnetic pumps
No leakage
Due to the use of magnetic coupling and isolation sleeve, the risk of mechanical seal leakage of traditional pumps is completely eliminated.
Safe and reliable
Suitable for conveying toxic, flammable, explosive, corrosive or precious liquids to ensure the safety of personnel and the environment.
Simple maintenance
No need to replace mechanical seals, reducing maintenance costs and downtime.
Efficient and energy-saving
Magnetic coupling has high efficiency, low energy consumption and stable operation.
4. Application fields of magnetic pumps
Chemical industry: conveying corrosive media such as acids, alkalis and salts.
Pharmaceutical industry: transport sterile and high-purity liquids.
Petrochemical industry: transport flammable and explosive liquids.
Environmental protection industry: transport sewage, waste liquid, etc.
